Our Story
In 1977, Doyle and Harriet Hughes set out to start an excavating company that could provide high-quality work. Over 40 years later the company is still thriving, providing excavation, demolition, sewer, and septic services for many happy customers. We continue to have the same vision and goals as when the company was founded decades ago, providing professional services from technicians who are highly trained.
In 2019, E.D. Hughes was purchased by Gerding Companies, adding Hughes to their growing corporation and expanding their services. In 2022, the name was changed to Hughes Excavation. With a new name and a new management team to lead us into the future, we bring rejuvenated energy and commitment to providing the same great service, with a focus on relationships and community service.
